Oral and Poster Presentation Guidelines for Authors
Presenting authors are requested to please adhere to the following guidelines:
Oral Presentation Duration:
Please ensure your presentation fits within the allocated time.
Oral Presentation Format:
Bring your presentation in the required format as specified by the symposium guidelines.
Poster Dimensions and Layout:
Follow the prescribed dimensions and layout for your poster
Oral Guidelines
- Presenters are allocated 12 minutes to deliver their presentation, with an additional 3 minutes for a Q&A.
- The presentation file should ideally contain approximately 10-12 PowerPoint slides based on the allocated presentation time.
- All presenters are required to submit their presentation file on a USB memory stick during registration on the first day of the symposium.
- It is not possible to use your computer for your presentation.
- Should your presentation contain links to video files, please bring your PowerPoint file and separately the video files to the operator. All videos linked to PowerPoint slides must be checked to ensure proper functioning.
Where possible, we would like to standardise units used in presentations.
Presenters are requested to convert volumes, flow rates and salinities to the following:
- Volume: m3 or Million m3, abbreviated to Mm3
- Borehole flow rate: m3/hr (with L/s in brackets)
- Daily flow rate/demand: m3/day or Mm3/day
- Salinity: mS/m (ie milli Siemens per metre)
Poster Guidelines
Please take time to read all the requirements for posters.
- Authors are requested to place their posters on the poster panels between 08:00 and 09:00 on the first day of the symposium.
- All posters must be removed at the end of the symposium. The organizers will not take any responsibility for posters that remain up after the symposium.
- Authors must please ensure that they are available to discuss their poster(s) during the poster session.
Poster Dimensions
- White poster panels can only accommodate posters in portrait orientation. The maximum size for posters is A0 (1200 x 850 mm) Please do not exceed these dimensions.
- Posters will be affixed to the panels by double sided tape which will be supplied by the Organizers on site.
Poster PDF submission
- Authors are requested to submit a copy of their A0 poster in pdf format and email directly to the organizers confetal2@iafrica.com. These posters will be uploaded to the IAH archives for future reference and access by IAH members to view.
- Deadline for submission of pdf files: 7 April 2025
